First of all as Always thank you to Abandon Agony for giving me the Permission to write this Introduction.
As the Readers of this Blog most know by now, I'am often on Spotify and switch through so many Artists. And in this Sence i found also Abandon Agony!
Many groups that I know have achieved a certain status, but there are also some really great underground bands that deserve recognition. Personally, I am more of a symphonic, speed, or power metal listener, but sometimes I also explore other genres or sub-genres.

Abandon Agony: The Rising Force of Melodic Death Metal from Sweden
TROLLHÄTTAN, SWEDEN – The melodic death metal scene has a new force to reckon with: Abandon Agony. As their reputation continues to grow, the band is set to bring their mayhem beyond Sweden’s borders. This Midsummer’s Eve, they’ll take the stage at Metalvation Festival in Odense, Denmark, ready to unleash their fury on an international crowd.
What started as the brainchild of Tobias Järvelä, formerly of Memoria and Dragon Steel, quickly evolved into a full-fledged metal entity. With the addition of seasoned musicians from bands like Goddess Cult and Rock Leg, Abandon Agony became a ferocious collective, shaping their sound into a hard-hitting, adrenaline-fueled experience. Their journey from inception to performing live in just two weeks speaks volumes about their passion and dedication.
Having already played multiple shows across Sweden, the band continues to build momentum, leaving a trail of blown-out speakers and ecstatic crowds in their wake. Fans can expect more blistering music and unforgettable live performances in the near future.

In February 2024, the 8th to be exact, the single "Blind Intentions" was released and immediately stole the hearts of their fans—or, more broadly, the melodic death metal community.

Of course, there was also the question of the festivals.
Ceyla: "Are there any festivals or events in Germany, or even worldwide, that you would like to attend? Some of them always offer opportunities to apply."
Everyone has different ideas about which events they might be suitable for, so we are always curious to see what the answer will be.
A.A: "Absolutely – there are many festivals we dream of playing! Germany in particular has an incredible metal scene, and festivals like Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, and Party.San Open Air are definitely at the top of our list. We’d love the chance to bring our sound to those legendary stages and connect with fans in such a vibrant metal culture.
Beyond Germany, we’d also love to play festivals like Hellfest in France, Download Festival in the UK, Tuska Open Air in Finland, and Copenhell in Denmark. Closer to home, Sweden Rock Festival is of course a major goal for us as well.
As for bands we’d love to tour with – there are so many! Sharing the stage with acts like Insomnium, Be'lakor, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, or Dark Tranquillity would be an incredible experience. Those bands have really paved the way for melodic death metal, and it would be an honor to bring our energy to the same audience.
We’re always keeping our eyes open for new opportunities to play live, whether it’s festivals, club shows, or tours. The goal is simple: more stages, more sweat, more chaos!
As many of You know, i do love to recommend to different Festivals, like Dong Open Air, Full Force, Rock Harz, Summer Breeze, Turock Open Air , Party San Open Air, Frostfeuernächte, Dark Troll Festival and many many more. The only thing we could try would be to write to Graspop or, as always, share the Summer Breeze page.
Nonetheless, we're keeping our fingers crossed for the upcoming festival season for the band where they get the Chance to Play.
On June 14, 2024, the time had finally come: their first EP was released and rocked the community. With the bombastic sound of their EP Dark Matter, the Swedish band won over even the last remaining critics among their fans.
