First of all as Always thank you to A Hill to Die Upon for giving me the Permission to write this Introduction.
Many groups that I know have achieved a certain status, but there are also some really great underground bands that deserve recognition. Personally, I am more of a symphonic, speed, or power metal listener, but sometimes I also explore other genres or sub-genres.
Line-Up is as Such:
Michael Cook (Drums / Vocals)
Adam Cook (Vocals / Guitar)
Nolan Osmond (Guitar)
Since we gather information about the bands from everywhere, mainly from the official websites, we are happy to share it. This Info came from MetalTabs.
If there was one thing to describe A Hill To Die Upon, it would be a resistance to die. From the beginning, A Hill To Die Upon has made it a point to do, whatever that may be, the best they possibly can. Starting out as a two piece hardcore act and growing through over a dozen members and several genre leaps, A Hill To Die Upon became a Blackened Death Metal duo of two brothers that would not stop after any hardship that came their way. During this time, A Hill To Die Upon played with such bands as Crimson Moonlight, Frosthardr, Becoming the Archetype, War of Ages, Sotahuuto, Set Your Goals, Winds of Plague, Veil of Maya, Year of Desolation, Thine Eyes Bleed, and many other high type acts. Forward is the only direction and up is the only angle. A Hill To Die Upon is very excited about the future goals and the imminent hard work. But ever higher…

The trio's first release came out on November 20, 2006. The single was called The Burial and was released independently.

Topics such as battles, mythology, Christianity, literature are taken up and artfully packaged with bombastic sound.
We had the honor of having drummer and singer Mike Cook answer our questions.
Ceyla: "Is there any band that inspires you the most? Or, if there isn’t such a band, where do you draw your inspiration from? If neither applies, how did you come up with these two sub-genres, if you can still call them that?"
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
M.C: "Early on, we were very inspired by Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, and Old Man's Child. Recently, we've been listening to a lot of Marduk, Rotting Christ, Motorhead, and the new Slechtvalk. "
You can definitely hear the influences of the bands mentioned above in the songs, but the sound of the songs is still very unique. Unique enough to let your imagination run wild and just let yourself be carried away. Even if that's hard to imagine with some music genres.
In June 2008, the band once again honored itself with a demo called Demo 2008.
01. Season of the Starved Wolf
02. This King Never Smiles
Full-Length Playtime: 08:32
Of course, there was also the question of the festivals.
Ceyla: "Are there any festivals or events in Germany, or even worldwide, that you would like to attend? Some of them always offer opportunities to apply."
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
M.C: "In the past, we have enjoyed playing Elements of Rock in Switzerland, Nordic Fest in Norway, and Destruction Fest in England. Wacken is always the goal for any metal band."
As many of You know, i do love to recommend to different Festivals, like Dong Open Air, Full Force, Rock Harz, Summer Breeze, Turock Open Air , Party San Open Air, Frostfeuernächte, Dark Troll Festival and many many more. The only thing we could try would be to write to Graspop or, as always, share the Summer Breeze page.
We now try to include the complete discography in these presentations to make the search easier.

Of course, we always give artists and musicians the option to leave a message for the readers. These messages are always very heartwarming, even if you shouldn't mention them in metal. And yet, they are all absolutely lovely people.
Ceyla: "Is there anything you would like the readers of this blog to know about you and your music?"
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
A.C: " Nolan is constantly on tour doing Front of House for bands like Currents, Shadow of Intent, and Fleshgod Apocalypse. Michael is often out with his southern rock band The Comancheros. A Hill to Die Upon is not very active but please come out to a Currents or Comancheros show and say hello! The Comancheros will be touring Europe April and May of 2025. "
