[Introduction] A Thousand Allies (Türkiye)

Disclaimer: The band/solo artist knows about my blog. I do have permission to write about them and to use their/his picture. All links are placed, as well as the representative videos on YouTube.

All right of this Picture goes to the Band Itself - A Thousand Allies

Music Platforms

First of all as Always thank you to A Thousand Allies for giving me the Permission to write this Introduction.

As the Readers of this Blog most know by now, I'am often on Spotify and switch through so many Artists. And in this Sence i found also A Thousand Allies!
Many groups that I know have achieved a certain status, but there are also some really great underground bands that deserve recognition. Personally, I am more of a symphonic, speed, or power metal listener, but sometimes I also explore other genres or sub-genres.

The Line up is as Such:
Taha Ören on Bass Guitar
Erkan Cingöz on drums
and Berkay Gülünay on guitars, keyboards, vocals, songwriting, mixing/mastering, etc.

That's why I'm very happy about this Blog. So far, I've only found very good bands that I'm happy to recommend.
In July 2021, A Thousand Allies made their debut with their EP Chaos Control. It was recorded as an EP because the song lasts exactly 12:39 minutes.

As always, we were able to ask our questions, but we always give the bands or solo artists the choice of whether they want to answer them or if we can get information in another way. The first question was answered by the Guitarist / Keybaordist Berkay Gülünay, as we know it is always an Honor for me to "Interview" an Artist.

Ceyla"Is there any band that inspires you the most? Or, if there isn’t such a band, where do you draw your inspiration from? If there aren't any, how did you come up with this Genre?

B.G: "Our band is a progressive metal band, but we've always been open-minded about switching genres over the songs. Naturally, our prog influences are the most of them, such as Opeth, Dream Theater, Rush, Symphony X, Porcupine Tree, etc. We also take some influences from other genre bands, Linkin Park, Megadeth, Alter Bridge, Metallica, and many more. And I can't take the credits out of the Turkish folkloric music that we've grown up with."

You can definitely hear the influences of the bands mentioned above in the songs, but the sound of the songs is still very unique. Unique enough to let your imagination run wild and just let yourself be carried away.

In July, the band's fans were once again able to enjoy a release. This one was called So Long, the One and was released at 06:10. Like the previous EP, this release was also available digitally.

And this time too, you could be blown away by the brilliant sound. The more you listen to it, the more nuances you can make out that make it sound like their sound. Something completely unique that they have created over the months, if not years.

I did ask myself if I should ask this to every artist since not everybody has the desire to be on festivals or events, but nonetheless, I ask.

Ceyla"Are there any festivals or events in Germany, or even worldwide, that you would like to attend? Some of them always offer opportunities to apply.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
B.G: "There is Wacken... if we talk about Germany. Euroblast is great as a prog band. Rock am Ring, Sumerbreeze... these are all amazing festivals. We are not a very picky band when it comes to sharing our music with different audiences. We only seek respect and enjoyment."

As many of You know, i do love to recommend to different Festivals, like Dong Open AirFull ForceRock HarzSummer BreezeTurock Open Air , Party San Open AirFrostfeuernächteDark Troll Festival and many many more.
Nonetheless, we're keeping our fingers crossed for the upcoming festival season for the band where theyget the Chance to Play.

We now try to include the complete discography in these presentations to make the search easier.
[2021.09.03] I Gave All (Single)
[2023.06.16] Hold Your Breath (Single)
[2023.07.16] Disaster (Single)
[2023.07.29] Under the Cloud of Dust (Single)
[2024.01.26] Abandoned Messenger (Album)

Of course, we always give artists and musicians the option to leave a message for the readers. These messages are always very heartwarming, even if you shouldn't mention them in metal. And yet, they are all absolutely lovely people.
Ceyla: "Is there anything you would like the readers of this blog to know about you and your music?"
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
B.G: "I mean, being in a band and trying to share your music is always tricky, especially when you're not in equal competition with the others. We're always trying to keep our enthusiasm for writing and improving our music. If anyone who reads this blog has the same issues as ours, we would like to inform you that you're not alone when it comes to struggling. We've recorded our first album in a dorm basement with a cappy PC and equipment that may be worth less than $50. And we're still recording in home equipments. Always seek ways to improve yourself, no matter your situation."

All named artists, as well as festivals and the entire discography, are linked throughout the article!
