Disclaimer: The Band knows about my Blog. I do have permission to wirte about them and to use their Picture. All Links are placed, as well as the representative Videos on YouTube.
First of all i want to thank the Band A Bond Between to give me the Honor to write about them!
I did discover them over there Spotify and had to admit that there Songs are pretty much addicting. And that comes from someone who is more into Symphonic Metal.
The actual Line Up is as Such:
Kevin Leyendecker - Vocals (Shouts und Cleans)
Phil Schölzel - Gitarre und Cleanvocals
Tristan Dully - Gitarre
Marius Wolpmann - Bass und Backingvocals
Kevin Lesniewski - Drums
In October 2022 over on there Bandcamp they scored there First EP with the Name Of Light & Suffering. Where i have to admit is Faith one of my Personal Favorites.
1. Intro (01:44)
2. Light (04:43)
3. Faith (04:15)
4. Misunderstanding (02:54)
5. Dissolution (05:06)
6. Choked (04:03)
The Full-Length of this brilliant EP is 22:45 and lets you float away into a world of your own. I did got also the Permission to ask some Questions, even though they are simple minded, everytime i got to ask them, the Answer was always Different. And thats what makes it for me Interesting furthermore to love writing and Support Bands in this Way.
The First and Second Question i'd get to ask was Answered at the same time "Is there any Band that Inspires you the Most? Or if there is no such Band where do you get the Inspiration?" and "If there aren't any, how did you come up with these two sub genres, if you can still call them that?" , Singer Kevin Leyendecker has been the One who Answered openly " One band that comes up again and again internally is definitely Lamb Of God, but not necessarily in relation to our songwriting. Nevertheless, the group around Randy Blythe is probably one of our lowest common denominators.
You also have to throw Trivium, In Flames, or Parkway Drive into the mix. The bands may all be musically different, but we as a band share exactly this music.
So you will also hear in our songs that we are by no means taking the path of least resistance and not developing further. Due to the two line-up changes in the past 1.5 - 2 years, a lot of new input has been added. One of our main people is our drummer Kevin Lesniewski. Together with Phil (guitar and clean vocals), the two form a good 80-90% of the basis of our songs. Frontman Kevin Leyendecker (vocals) likes to polish the material again and Tristan Dully (guitar) and Marius Wolpmann (bass and backing vocals) give the song that certain "ambience" (that's a little internal pun).
So it's actually hard to say whether we can be classified exclusively in these two subgenres. But just looking at the EP, we're very much with you there." And yet I have to admit that I could hear some of the Sounds from the Bands mentioned. That doesn't bother me in any way because it gives you the feeling that you're listening to something familiar, but different enough that makes it Special.
Of course I couldn't cancel my Favorite Question since here in Germany and of course the World there are so many Festivals, so i did come around to ask "Are in Germany or more so in the World any Festivals or Events that you would like to attend? Some of them are always giving Chances to Apply to. " In that case was the Singer Kevin Leyendecker another Time absolute Honest " As far as festivals are concerned, we as a band have not yet had the opportunity to gain any experience. The line-up changes in particular were reason enough for us to rework the existing material twice and make a name for ourselves regionally for the time being. The year 2025 will probably have to hold its festivals without us. That's not because we don't want to, but we will go into the studio in summer/late summer to record our debut record (album). We want to end up with a result that sounds 100% "A Bond Between".
That doesn't mean, however, that we wouldn't play a festival if the opportunity arose.
Especially here in the Ruhr area, there are obviously these "small" festivals that have already helped quite a few bands. ". Even though i'am not qualified to choose for the Band, but i would love to see them at the Riverside (or Summerside) Festival in Switzerland, likewise as an Support Band for Bands who go on Tour. Maybe they get a Chance someday, i do hope so.
Since i didn't want to Disturb the Band further i had so ask "And finally, is there anything else you would like to share with the blog readers?" and the Answer may Surprise some of you since not every Band want to be Suggested but in Case of A Bond Between is it clear "If you have the opportunity to book us in your city, don't hesitate. We will try everything we can to make it possible. We also promise you a live set that will make you move and sing along. " and with that i can say, I will do my Best to suggest them to some Festivals around Germany, maybe you can do that in your Country as well!
